About Me

I have just completed my studies at Northwest Christian College here in Eugene, Oregon (located in the Pacific Northwest USA). I will be awarded a Bachelors of Arts as an Individualized Studies Major and a certificate in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second or Other Language). I also work full time for Albertina Kerr Care Centers, as a Life Enrichment Specialist and skills trainer in a group behavior home with disabled adults. I am the founder and president of this campus’s first ever TESOL club. I am also one of the campus writing tutors. I currently conduct and participate in language exchange with students from the University of Oregon's American English Institute. I have been studying basic Mandarin. I love teaching and learning!
I am the producer and host at the University of Oregon's Campus Radio Station KWVA, International Student Radio Show the show's new profile is myspace.com/internationsalstudentradio
or listen live online at KWVA’s home page kwvaradio.org

I love to laugh and have fun. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, cycling (I have logged over 1000 miles these last 20 weeks), martial arts, music, movies, books, food, and the internet. I am the kind of person who likes to explore new things. Most people find me funny, kind, sincere, and down to earth.
I have a great partner, she is so loving and supporting that it makes all these things in my life the sweeter. I am one lucky man living a real "Beauty and the Beast" story. (She’s beauty by the way!) She is also a DJ at a different radio station KRVM 91.9 krvm.org and she wants to live and work overseas as well. In fact, she is already packed!
Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or leads for teaching jobs in Asia. I look forward to meeting you online and perhaps in person at a later time.

Smile!

My Interests

Finding a job teaching English in Asia. I also enjoy reading, traveling, music, radio, vinyl records, movies, graphic arts, the internet, weightlifting, cycling, wrestling, martial arts, dragon boat racing, scooters, motorcycles, and my relationship with my wife Gail.

I'd like to meet:

People living in Asia and fellow TESOL/ESL Teachers, Recruiters, and students.

Music:

As a long time disc jockey/radio broadcaster I find that my taste can be very eclectic, but pretty much out of the main stream. I enjoy '80s, remixes, mash-ups, garage, rock-a-billy, and old records.

Movies:

I love movies! Drama, comedy, romance, adventure, foreign, independent, documentry, and classics. I enjoy movies like: The Godfather, City of God, Scary Movie 2, Cheech and Chong, The Parrots of Telegraph Hill, Winged Migration, Lost City of Children, I Heart Huckabees, Whale Rider, Bringing up Baby, Abbot and Costello, Lone Star, and many others. We have Netflix so we get to enjoy a pretty good selection of movies.

Television:

Not too much. The Travel Channel is what we watch the most. No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain is a recent favorite. I also enjoy the Globetrekker Series. Dare I say Dharma and Greg reruns?
The Venture Brothers

Books:

A partial list of books I have read can be found here:

Family, friends, and you.
