About Me

MONTREAL MIRROR REVIEW - NASTY ON, SQUID The Nasty On Squid (La Ti Da) This posthumous, vinyl-only release of pure R’n’R mayhem proves it’s better late than never. Better get the lead out as there aren’t many around. 7.5 (JC)_________________________________________________Well, they say good things come to those who wait, but who would of thought we'd have to wait this long for Nasty On's second LP release. Is it worth the wait? We think so, and we hope you will too. Official release date is March 24th. Pre orders welcome. The LP is vinyl only. 500 pressed on 160 gram virgin vinyl & comes in a numbered, gate-fold cover. Email us directly & we will reserve & ship as soon as we package the LP. These won't last long & we will NOT be repressing this release. _____________________________THE PARALLELS: Arms To Hold You/Skinny Little Arms Made Out of Paper 7" OUT NOW, The Parallels' mod-soul sound is timeless. Featuring members of the Tranzmitors, The Parallels strike a perfect balance between staple British monuments of mod, and the modern sound of NOW! Recorded in glorious MONO by soon-to-be famous Felix Fung at Little Red Sounds. 500 pressed, 100 on clear vinyl. Personal & distro orders welcome. __________________________________________ MAXIMUMROCK&ROLL REVIEW - Ape City R&B "Oh yes. This is the kind of stuff I like. Rollicking garage rock with pounding rhythms and wild guitars. It's fast, fun & very catchy. The lyrics may not be the most intelligent, but who really pays attention to those anyway?" (CK)-Maximumrock&roll, Feb. 08 APE CITY R&B “FIRESTARTER” IS IN! The single you’ve been waiting for is finally here. With 45s now out on Slovenly, Jenasol, Infringement, Bughouse, and a track on the Funhouse Comp Thing, the "Firestarter, Wot I Say" single from this Seattle two-piece ain’t gonna last long. Both tracks are floor stompin, primitive, blues fueled, budget garage burners. Like a smash-up derby in a chicken shack. Artwork by Nine Times Infinity. 500 pressed. 100 on pumpkin orange vinyl, 400 on black. ________________________________________________________ TRANZMITORS "SOME GIRLS" RE-PRESS Has been flying out the door since the band's full length on Deranged /Stiff Records (yea, the very same Stiff) has hit the pavement, and following their hugely successful tour in the UK. The "Some Girls" red vinyl are gone but there are a mitt-full of black copies left. Shipping included for orders in Canada & the USA. Visit latidarecords.com to order, or pick one up locally in Vancouver at finer record shops. PRESS!!!____________________________________________________ _______________ TRANXZMITORS: Some Girls..Dancing in the Front Row 7" The image I get when listening to the Tranzmitors is an expert telephone switchboard operator—the type who would plug in lines by hand after the call’s placed—only with a time machine. So, you’re getting a call from 1977: Buzzcocks, Gang of Four, Undertones, Jam, all hanging on one line, but cross-switched to 2006 without losing clarity, without static. Your musical door, today, is kicked off the frame, and in comes a band, all instruments a-blazing, shooting you full of musical notes. Like the Exploding Hearts, there’s something vital to be said about freshly broken angles, bent and infected melodies, redirecting stray lines back to the master strokes to the likes of Elvis Costello—not to make a shrine—but to push older ideas further than they initially went. And, holy smokes, The Tranzmitors sound like they were born nailed to their instruments. Wow. –Todd Taylor (Razorcake)Fantastic powerpop by this bunch of Canucks... Totally authentic BUZZCOCKS/WASPS gear but with a little more bite. These cats could snuggle next to any of your late 70s favorites and no one would be any the wiser.
