DJ In:sight

Ollie Evans aka DJ In:sight has always had an ear for music, he’s been going to festivals since he was just 5yrs old. ’I grew up with music around me, my parents used to take me to loads of different festivals, it was great! As I got older I started to wander round Glastonbury Festival with my friends, we would hang out together & listen to the different sounds of the festival. I can remember arriving at Glastonbury in 1995 to see the dance tent for the first time, I was 14 yrs old & too young to go to night clubs, I had never seen anything like it!’ This gave In:sight the inspiration to start DJing. 4yrs later he bought his first set of turntables & within a year he was already a regular DJ at clubs & bars in his local area. Little after that he was playing backstage at Glastonbury Festival & they enjoyed his DJ sets so much they asked him back the following year. He has gone on to warm up for Full Cycle at Ashton Court Festival in Bristol & in 2002 he finished 3rd place at Drive By’s DJ competition in Bath. 2005 saw In:sight win the liquidfunk.co.uk online DJ competition, this made a real impact with his DJ bookings. 2006 was another successful year for him, with DJ sets @ Knowledge Magazine’s Bar Knowledge night @ Café 1001 in Shoreditch, London, a warm up set for Andy C at the Nightlife 3 launch party in Plymouth along with a set at Dubplate Killaz 2 for Infidelity @ Level, Bristol & not forgetting his international debut @ Flavor Of The Month in Paris, France. 2007 was another big one, starting off the year with an interview in Knowledge Magazine & then going onto gain a DJ residency for Hospitality in Bristol, where you can catch him at the Thekla nightclub alongside Hospital Record DJ’s & special quests such as DJ Friction, Dillinja, High Contrast & Logistics to name a few. 2007 also saw In:sight pick up a monthly DJ residency @ The Rhythm Factory, London for liquidfunk.com & a return to Paris for the second year running to make another DJ appearance @ Flavor Of The Month. It was also another year for winning DJ competitions, over the summer In:sight won the Livestyles & Rinseout DJ competitions held in Bristol & Exeter. 2008 has seen In:sight continues his DJ residency for Hospitality & gain another one for the successful club night Signal. In:sight recently played at the Roni Size/Reprazent after party in Bristol & is now a regular at the Marky & Friends parties. He is beginning to spend more time in the studio & when he’s not DJing or producing he is putting his time into promoting the club night Fluid @ Hush Hush, Bristol. Watch this space.
