Mapped Out events started in Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, England, in Feb 2001. We moved down the road to the Sunderland in 2006. We're taking a breather at the start of 2008 but will be kicking off back on Tyneside very soon. The Mapped Out DJ line-up is Ash (Mapped Out), Dave "Weller", Smitre, Claudine & Phil (co-founder returns). We play from the 6t's Mod sounds through to current Indie sounds and in between we manage to let rip with Mod Revival, Northern Soul & Ska.I (Ash) also DJ's for the North East Soul Union (Seahorse, Whitley Bay) - (http://www.northeastsoul.co.uk), Ska Monkey Sound System (Elephant, Ashington) - (http://www.skamonkey.com), The Byker Groove (with Phil) - the 2nd room at the Beatin' Rhythm Soul Club (The Retreat, St. Doms. Newcastle-Upon-Tyne) & present The Groove Bag on Mod Radio UK (http://www.modradiouk.com) featuring sounds predominantly from the 6T's (along with my sidekick from Mapped Out & Byker Groove - Phil Hall). Our shows are live on Wednesday 8pm-10pm (GMT), all from original vinyl. Why not tune in!
