I'm Ruthie, I'm 4, and Ida is 2. We're sisters, but I treat her more like my child, since she acts like such a baby. We love Greenies, lap time, snuggling together, and our daddies!
I came to live with my daddies when I was almost 4 years old. I had lived with a very nice family, where I had about 17 other dogs to play with. I had three litters of puppies, but they all went to other homes pretty quickly. I had a difficult pregnancy the last time, and Mama Cassandra knew I wouldn't be able to have any more babies, so she had my tubes tied. I am very much in charge of all around me, and Mama Cassandra knew I might be happier in a home where there weren't so many other dogs. When Daddy Wes came to Mama Cassandra's house looking for a puppy to adopt, she knew she'd found my new home when Daddy Wes and I hit it off really well immediately. I was very happy in my new home. I got lots and lots of attention -- really I got anything I wanted any time I wanted it.
Then, one day Daddy Rich said he'd been told about a puppy that had been mistreated very badly. At first Daddy Wes said "No way -- we can't have any other dogs." But then, he started feeling bad for the puppy, when he heard exactly everything she'd been through. So, he said to bring her home and they would see how she got along with me. I only had to bite her once, and she knew I was boss. Actually, the skinny little thing reminded me of my own babies, and when I decided to give her a bath, my daddies knew that we would get along just fine. And that is how my sister Ida came to live with us. We love each other very much, and we love our daddies, too. They take us everywhere with them. We even get to go out to eat with them at Carrabba's! We all sit on the patio and Ida and I each have our own chair, and a really nice lady named Shannon brings us our very own grilled chicken. We used to get the chicken from Holly, but she moved away, and now all we get from her is an occasional e-mail, though she did come and visit us in February, all the way from Colorado!
