Overdrive

About Me

Anna put Overdrive together in '04. Having gigged with Phill in a previous heavy rock incarnation, they began to jam in local pubs/clubs and met up with Simon and Ian and Overdrive was spawned!!!, Theirs was the view to play to please themselves (and hopefully, others,) their favourite kind of music, classic, old school 70's style rock. Two years on, Overdrive perform numbers from their favourite bands as well as their own, original material. Anna's first band was when she was 18 at college in Manchester, she's supported Dr Feelgood, F.M., Paul Di Anno (EX Iron Maiden) and countless others in her various projects; Simon has toured extensively throughout Europe with his own blues band and has played in surf/rockabilly bands, numerous rock bands as well as blues. He takes credit, with Anna, for composing the original material for Overdrive. Ian lived in the States for a while and jammed with many musicians in the San Jose area, prior to his move, he'd been in bands since he was at school. Phills drumming began in the sea cadets where he was thoroughly encouraged to make a lot of noise and still does to this day although he is now, sadly, too big to wear his cadets uniform anymore. Based on the South east coast, Overdrive still go to every possible local jam event and organise their own gigs and are in the process of writing their first album "UNITY" due for release, Summer '06.
