Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" changed my life. Jeanette Winterson's "Written On the Body" is special to me. I didn't think literature like that existed anymore. Read it if you miss Austen and Hardy. She makes language mechanical and mathematics poetic. Brilliance
