About Me

Currently, Mette Bille is working on her own studio and live projects with Jez Nabarro. The EP project 'Close To Her Ear' is now available! The songs 'Everything', 'Say Goodbye' & 'Home Is In My Hand' are from the Ep. Please take a listen!
All songs are written by Mette Bille, except the song 'Everything' which is written by Mette Bille & Jamie Perera.

Furthermore Mette Bille is also writing music for other projects/events. Such as Jez Nabarro's musical project. Also in the summer 2007 Mette Bille participated in the Danish Songwriter Contest 2007 'Danish Song of the Year' & 'Danish Children Song of the Year'. Her children song, the lullaby 'Stille Du' is going to be published in a collective song book in Spring 2008 by the publisher The Association of Music Teachers in Denmark, Publishing Division.
Mette Bille has been living in London for the past few years, but is currently living in Copenhagen.
She has a diverse musical heritage;- from experimental pop/rock, jazz, free improvisation and other contemporary styles.
As well as numerous London performances, Mette has also performed in Europe, including events at the Jazz festival in Copenhagen, Denmark and in Luxembourg.

Band Members: Mette Bille has been co producing the demo 'Close To Her Ear' with Jez Nabarro who also takes care of electronics/beats/harmonica.
For the EP project Mette Bille has/is working with musicians from Dk and the UK: Quinta (violin/viola), Mads Heide (piano), Christian Elmer Pedersen (bass), John Shenoy (sax), Klaus Bille (drums) and Matt Dungey (piano/oboe).
Influences: Various musicians/composers such as Stina Nordenstam, Michael Garrick, Norma Winstone, Stan Tracey, Steve Reich, Tom Waits, Lewis Taylor, Nina Simone, Xenakis, Erykah Badu, Matthew Herbert, Aphex Twin, PJ Harvey, To Roccoco Rot, Bartok, Roisin Murhy, Thomas Dybdahl, Fiona Apple, Bjørk, Dizzee Rascel, Cinematic Orchestra, Lady Sovereign, PJ Harvey, Jill Scott, JBanan etc
Sounds Like: Mette Bille's solo project is an amalgam of jazz and experimental pop, with minimal, yet warm undertones.
