Grace of Decay has existed as a musical project since 2002. But not until 2007 did the band find the right set-up, with five permanent members and a coherent musical set. The band consists of Nikolaj Folke Olsen (vocal & guitar), William Villadsen (synth/piano & vocal), Palli Klein (guitar), Lennart Vidbjørg (bass), and Mikkel Kjeldsen (drums).
The band members are in their twenties and all reside in Copenhagen, though their origins ranges from Denmark to the Faroe Islands and the Czech Republic. The musical backgrounds and experi-ences are very diverse, ranging from a host of electronical projects by Nikolaj and William, to the rhythm section that has a more classic rock background, while guitarist Palli has a background in heavy-metal. This makes Grace of Decay a band that is characterized by a multiplicity of inputs and ideas.
It is in this combination of rock and electronical elements, that Grace of Decay has found their ex-pression and special sound. The band combines a groovy and rocking rhythm section with catchy harmonies and melodies and a host of samples and electronical elements, which in total produces a massive and intense expression.
The present demo is an expression of the band’s high level of ambition, since everything from play-ing and sampling to recording, mixing and artwork is made by the band itself.
