About Me

Tina Roy, gifted singer/songwriter and guitarist, was introduced to music at a very young age. She spent much of her childhood with her guitar, paper and pen and could always be found writing songs, stories and poetry in the small northern town of Warren, Ontario. You can still find her doing the same in Sudbury, where she happily resides. Her curiosity for the more technical side of sound and music was sparked in high school, when she began working with and directing the Audio-Visual Club. This new fascination lead her drama teacher, who recognized Tina’s talent, to challenge her to record and edit the musical score for her grade 11 dramatic arts class play. Needless to say, her path was set. Her passion for music and technology brought her all the way to Montréal, Québec, in 2006, to obtain a diploma in Audio Recording and Production from Recording Arts Canada. When she is not performing at local coffee shops, bars and schools, Tina receives great joy from hosting, facilitating and co-ordinating song writing workshops, live sound tutorials and giving guitar lessons. During the past two years, she has independently recorded, produced and released two EPs that she distributes from her guitar case at her performances, usually with the help of her great supporters.Tina’s love for music and interactive live performances, combined with her travels through Ontario, inspires and drives her art, reminding her audiences of the importance of the simple human experiences we all have. Her caring, passionate personality and contagious laughter will warm you up and bring out the best in you."Bathroom Stall sketches a picture of an old public bathroom stall meanwhile relating this cozy corner to a safe hideaway while involved in any scary relationship. The song creates a mysterious maybe even melancoly tune that stays with the listener for several hours after listening. A listener, like myself, may even find themselves singing this tune while in their own bathroom stall for the song is quite soothing while the bowels are working." -Rachel Laurenti
