About Me

Michael was born and raised in Syracuse, NY and was involved in many musical projects there, mostly as a solo artist but also with various people. He was part of the Syracuse area songwriting network and writers groups alongside noteables such as Gary Frenay and Arty Lenin of the Flashcubes, Craig Marshall formerly of the Kennedys and Mike Estep. Syracuse band projects include Streetcleaner with future Superthrive drummer Raku, and RedShift, an odd experiment in sound, noise and textures which happens to sound like music sometimes. Eventually Michael moved to Austin, TX and met up with Gabriel Siklosi, also a transplant from Cleveland, OH formerly of 5 Believers and First Word which topped charts in Poland with their punk/mod song Stars Come Out Tonight. With Gabriel he formed Tombstone Bullies, a songwriting, blues and roots duo which has played many of Austin's mainstay clubs including weekly visits to the now defunct but still legendary Joe's Generic Bar and the hard rockin' Red Eyed Fly as well as many other staples like the Pier on Lake Austin and Momo's. Current projects include a newly formed band format for Tombstone Bullies and a part of Siklosi's concept band Lea and the Tards.(Thanks to Mitch Egan for the write up !! MTN)
