About Me

Orkan Gazi - MC, producer & audio engineer - was born in Nürnberg / Germany on the 4th of July 1978 as son of turkish immigrants. In the mid 80s he first came in contact with Hip Hop during the Breakdance craze and was constantly supplied by his elder brothers with fresh Hip Hop & Electro Funk.
In the early 90s he started writing lyrics first in English then in Turkish and German and after working with some producers (e.g. Low T. ) he started building his own recording studio (7-CANLI Studio) in the mid 90s. In that period of time he also had his first public appearances doing shows and taking part in freestyle sessions wherever he could, gaining a reputation as a powerfull live performer.
Around 1997 he and DJ Scratch D. teamed up and were renowned for their "Two Turntables And A Mic"-shows. In the year 2000 he met DJ Skeme (of the former Liquid Fingaz) and ever since they perform together on two turntables and two mics delivering 50 % Rap and 50% Turntablism.
Over the years Orkan Gazi has produced and performed for countless compilations, samplers and mixtapes and has released two producer albums. For several years now he's also foucusing on the more technical side of things and is mixing / mastering for other artists' releases.
In 2007 he will be releasing several new records with some MCs he has worked with over the years.
