WONDERBOYSPär Davidsson, frontman and songwriter for Americana inspired act the Wonderboys was one half of the Trampolines.The Trampolines were extremely successful a few years ago and sold hundreds of thousands albums. On this album Per explores his roots in American rock but still keep a firm grip of the wonderful catchy melodies of Swedish song writing. Guitarist and long time friend Pelle Jerneryd co-produced with Per and helped creating the wonderful atmosphere of this debut album.When we formed the Wonderboys in 2001, Pär says -"I didn't want to compromise with the song writing", he had a clear picture in his head how he wanted the band to sound, he also knew that if he was going to achieve his goals he had find some brilliant musicians for the band. Wonderboys are some of Sweden's finest pop/rock musicians.These musicians have all worked with both Swedish and international celebrities and toured extensively.Before the sessions of "Stronger than you" the Wonderboys agreed to make the recording as pleasant as possible, something that is easier to say than to do. The motto became "when in doubt leave out". And the fact that we had intimate dinner parties and barbeque breaks with favourites like Chris Whitley, Daniel Lanois, The Band, Rolling stones, U2, Jimmy Hendrix, EmmyLou Harris, Buddy Miller and Aimy Mann playing in the background, all the above mentioned being great inspiration and heroes for the band members.A quirky slice of Americana via southern Sweden, "Stronger than you" contains 11 songs with Wonderboys, addressing universal -Is this what life is about- questions.
