Music:

Electonica/Techno: Trance & Hard House mostly, 60's oldies, most all music except Country & most Rap/Hip Hop.....ok, Emenem doesn't count here. Neither does Will Smith. ****My music interests are very different for someone my age. I was first turned on to what we called "synthesized or electronic" instrumental music back in the early 70's when my roommate brought home an album by a German group called "Kraftwerk". I fell in love with the new sound but no one I knew ever heard of the new style. Time passed many years, but I always wondered what ever became of that incredible music style & never forgot the name of the artists that produced it. Then in the mid to late '90s my daughter had become immersed in the rave scene, expounding lavishly on this new form of music that was being performed at these all night dance parties. Usually always up on the latest music genres, I drew a blank with this one called "techno". Determined to have me hear this sound, she put in a CD by DJ Micro. All of a sudden, all the memories of my lost & forgotten love for a long forgotten sound came rushing back. This "new" genre was indeed the music I fell in love with many years ago with Kraftwerk!! I was HOOKED! Ten years later I still have a box full of my KandieRaver memorabilia, tried my hand at promoting/producing/talent mgmt. in the rave scene for about 2-3 years, my daughter is now a promoter & dj herself, and to this day, it is very common to be called by my "party" name. I had the proud, if not infamous distinction of being the oldest raver in Atlanta, if not the entire southeast! It is a love of the music, the vibe it produces, the talent and the glorious sound of the drop of a deep base reverberating through the room & my body that will forever be a very big part of me & who I am & always will be....RAVERMOM!NOTE: Below is the flyer from the first "rave" my daughter & I produced together. The "Electronica Zone" flyer beside my picture above was from a weekly event I held in Buckhead (Atlanta), GA back in 2003.
