About Me

My name is Kathrine and I write songs under the name Katie goes to Tokyo. Right now I'm recording my second album at the Vanishing Point in Stockholm which will hopefully be finished in November. Since I'm the only real band member in this 'band' I get to speak my mind. So here it is: I love nice people with big hearts, music that makes me feel in love, movies that make the world look different, my boyfriend, my guitar...cats and other sweet animals (snakes are not included), my family...fans that write nice things to me. I don't like people that creates some sort of status by looking down on others, big crowds (unless it's on one of my gigs :). Finally I hate war. You are most likely going to meet me at a cinema in Sthlm or Skellefteå or at some of my friends gigs because I seldom go anywhere else. My favourite place is my home. If we'd ever meet somewhere, feel free to buy me a cup of tea or a glass of wine, I don't drink coffee or beer. I watch a lot of movies. My favourites...there are a lot of them, Cinema Paradiso, Virgin Suicides, Elsker dig for evigt, Flyin Daggers, Hero, Starwars, Secretary, The Prestige to mention a few. I guess I'd love any movie with Christan Bale, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Frances McDormand or Maggie Gyllenhaal. My favourite songs of all times are The Ballad of El Goodo and Thirteen by Big Star, anything by the Beatles, Hide & I've been waiting by Matthew Sweet, the complete Frosting on the Beater-album by the Posies, Rent by Pet Shop Boys and Sparkys dream by Teenage Fanclub...I realize that I could go on forever about my favourite songs/artists so I'll just leave it at that. My favourite books are Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, New York trilogy by Paul Auster and The Stranger by Albert Camus. There it is! It's taking forever

You may think it's taking me FOREVER to finish my new album and in fact it is... I have most of the songs/music - it's the lyrics that's taking time. I can honestly say that I hate writing lyrics...
