The Heavy Shakes

About Me

The Heavy Shakes formed in 1998 in California. With no surprise, the band gained attention with music fans around the valley after only a few gigs. They packed houses at each show and the buzz kept going around town that these guys were a must see live band. The Heavy Shakes blend harmonic pop/rock with infectious melodies and a good dose of rocking riffs. This four-piece group performs power pop songs that catch your attention and keep you guessing as to why this band has not caught stardom yet. Their expressive songwriting is contagious, anthemic and disarming. Their innovative lyrics add quality to the music. Being placed on their local New Rock 104 radio stations compilation CD in the late nineties was just the beginning for the Heavy Shakes. The compilation featured the song entitled "Superstar" landing the group local and national airplay along with opening spots for some major acts such as Lit, Zebrahead, Cake, Smash Mouth, Orgy, and Sugar Ray at the New Rock 104 annual birthday bash radio show. The band was also featured on the Virtually Alternative CD sampler and an industry magazine The Album Network as an up and coming buzz band. Soon after.... a few major labels were calling to ask what more The Heavy Shakes had to offer. During a major label showcase, the song Drive Tonight caught the ear of Michael Rosenblatt, former manager of Madonna, who quickly courted them into the former Maverick Records recording studio. // Begin Pollhost.com Poll Code // --
