About Me

OK, so I'm musically schizophrenic...I started my musical career at age six by studying classical piano with a teacher from Juilliard...until I realized that pianists could rock out too. That was the end of my classical studies, and I branched out by teaching myself guitar, bass, and drums too. Since then, I've had my own bands which have run the gamut from alternative to metal to electronic, and for a while, I even did sessions re-recording songs for a Japanese karaoke company (yes, if you're up on a stage somewhere making a drunk ass of yourself with a mic in your hand, the chances are good I'm accompanying you on keyboards).
Throughout, I've had the privilege of working with some amazing and talented musicians (and some untalented assholes as well, but hey, that's life). But after doing the "band thing" for a while, I've decided to take it all upon myself and become a solo artist...writing, producing, and playing all the instruments. Sure, it can be lonely in the studio, but at least I don't have to wonder why my drummer is late for the sessions yet again. .
My first solo CD - Pop Motel - was recently released, and is being distributed by Not Lame Records - http://www.notlame.com/CDWRIGHTMARK1.html ...
...and is also available for purchase and download on iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody. Check it out!

Sounds Like: Ahh...doesn't matter what I think. Here's what some others had to say...

"I am listening to your music right now, and I am really blown away. Pawn Shop Crystal Ball is just one of the coolest songs that I have heard in a long long time." ~ Adam Waltemire, Pop Garden Radio

"Pawn Shop" is a classic. Everything about it works beautifully - fantastic. Sounds like you're a tried and true pop geek with plenty of insight into the last 30 years of popular music and a particular penchant for what rock critics snidely refer to as "power pop" (gasp, sputter!). Great words. Excellent arrangement. Cool chunk-chunk guitar. A chorus for the ages. Totally aces. (p.s. I had to play the song 5 times before moving on. That's how much I like it)." ~ TAXI review

“This is just what power pop is supposed to be -- well-constructed, witty and tongue in cheek...” R. Nunnally - Allen, TX

“I have always said that rock ‘n roll is a bottomless pit of treasures, and this proves it gloriously. A fresh lyric concept, twist-of-Lennon vocals, and the impressive playing was nothing short of brilliant. This is a hit...” H. Gore - Richmond, VA

“Incredibly catchy, humorous, and represents the epitome of well-crafted pop. Kept me entertained, and smiling...” C. Damien, Merrimack, NH

“Lyrics are great (and funny), and the hooks are memorable...” D. Rand - Atlanta, GA

“Blown away! This is amazing...” DJ Toxic - Alberta, Canada

“If McCartney and Wilson made a record...” C. Lain - Houston, TX

“Intelligent avant garde lyrics, cool vocals, great hooks, nice guitars - sounds like a cross between David Bowie and XTC...” A. Paurazas - Bloomington, IN

“Vocals are really well done, with an almost punk attitude. plus the harmonies are lush, and the lyrics are great...clever, sarcastic...” C. Hawkinson - Appleton, WI

“A Bowie meets psychedelic indie pop groove - very original!” C. Gavito - Austin, TX

“This is what Oasis would sound like if Noel was a nicer guy...very tight and well produced...changes are catchy...chorus is a real grabber...” J. Kaos - Ontario, Canada

“Excellent! Love the Beatles sound, cool lyrics, great songwriting...” M. Ancino - Indianapolis, IN

“The chorus has a hook I’ll be singing for a couple of hours - awesome...” N. Honore - Milwaukee, WI

“I really cannot stress how much I’m enjoying this. Please, keep making music -- this is great music...” Benny - Bethany, OK

“I like the original sound -- good lyrics, strong vocals, great musical performances, and the harmonies are just perfect. Great!...” - B. Owen - Denver, CO

“An English pop-rock vibe that’s very cool...” C. Olson - Bellingham, WA

“Fantastically weird. Definitely very cool...” N. Gunhold, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

“Catchy and fun. Very Jellyfish-like...” M. DiBiase - Providence, RI

“The Beatles meet Weezer...” J. Fischer - Grayslake, IL
