Traveling, concerts (especially 311), wine (I'm a huge wino), wine related events, old movies, women's issues, eating, cooking, spending time with friends, jewelry, animals, art, jogging, going to the beach, trying new things.
Nice, easy going, down to earth, drama-free people who share my interests. Friends who will last a lifetime.
I love big band and swing. I REALLY want to learn how to swing dance. I love older music and some people give me crap about it, just like with older movies but I don't care because they're lame. Haha!... I like a variety of music: 311, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Louis Prima, Incubus, Sublime, Pepper, Ill Nino, Silverchair, Fiona Apple, Rage, The Fugees, Wyclef Jean, Blink-182, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Buju Banton, Bob Marley, Sevendust, Audioslave, Silverchair, Matisyahu, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Shinedown, Green Day, No Doubt, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Etta James, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Killswitch, Thrice, Green Day, Korn, Michael Buble, and Sheryl Crow...Pretty much whatever's on my iPod and then some.
Pretty much everything except cheesy horror films. I love older movies from the '30s-'60s. That's just my favorite time period, plus I love all the romance. Films with Cary Grant (my husband), Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn and Rock Hudson are some of my favorites...An Affair to Remember, Pillow Talk, That Touch of Mink, Charade...I like Hitchcock. I also like films with Jimmy Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Humphrey Bogart, and Ingrid Bergman.
TCM and Retroplex for movies. The Riches, Heroes, Lost, Seinfeld, Good Eats, Crossing Jordan, Monk, Samantha Brown, Dharma and Greg, No Reservations, Bizarre Foods, Veronica Mars, Survivor Man, Man vs. Wild, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Nip/Tuck. I also watch a lot of other shows on the Travel Channel, History Channel, Food Network, and Animal Planet. I like watching educational programs. The only sport I really watch is baseball. I like the Braves.
I'm currently reading "Jane Addams: Twenty Years at Hull House." I just finished "The World Split Open: How the modern women's movement changed America" by Ruth Rosen. It was for a women's history class that I'm taking. I enjoyed it because it addressed the women's movement, something I wish I could've been a part of during the '60s-'70s. Women's Studies is my favorite subject...Another book I enjoyed was "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down." It was assigned for an Anthropoloy class I took a while back. Thanks to Patrick, I checked out "The Book of Questions"...good stuff...really made me think. I enjoy literature that stimulates the mind...not that I read that often. Haha!
I admire my father but aside from him, no one particular person. Anyone who has followed their dreams, stood up for their beliefs and has made a positive impact on the world is someone to be admired. Also, those who have gone against the norms of society in order to better it.
