About Me

After hearing a classmate play the banjo at a party back in 1974 - I was hooked. I bought a banjo and started playing, sometimes as much a 8 hours a day. Over a 30 year period, I have had the privilege to play in four bands - "Take Your Pick", "The Handsaw Brothers", "steelBlue", and currently with "Peachtree Station". I have recorded a full album with the Handsaw Brothers (mostly band originals), 3 cuts on Andy Carlson's Album "Beyond Boundaries", 3 - 4 cuts with steelBlue, and currently, with Peachtree Station that has one live CD and is completing it's first home studio project. I will from time to time post some of these tunes on this site. I hope that you will enjoy them as they appear. Networking with other musicians and bands is pretty much the reason for having this My Space site.I also own a veterinary hospital - Ansley Animal Clinic - here in Atlanta and have been practicing veterinary medicine there for 25 years (oh - in case you're wondering - I started playing banjo and graduated from veterinary school when I was about 10 years old... just in case you were wondering- well anyway - in my own mind, I'm still 19)I have also in the past several years started working with wood - turning and making jewelry - using fallen wood that I have found******************************************************* ******* Here are a couple of videos below of one of my previous band - it's steelBlue back in 2001 at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, Ga. We had guest fiddler - David Blackmon sitting in on this number - Midnight Moonlight.... Scott Woody - banjo, Joe Stratton - mandolin, Keith Morris - bass, Buck Peacock - guitar .......++++++++++++++++ Midnight Moonlight ++++++++++++++++I've also created a slide show of some of my woodwork and jewery..
