29 year old ginger bloke guitarist!

About Me

Hi,
I'm a 29-year old guitarist and part singer-songwriter from Reading the UK. I've been playing for around 13 years and during that time have been in several bands. You can listen to some of the music I've made with those bands on this site. It's a pretty varied bunch from indie to pop to punk/metal! There's two songs where I played guitar in my old band Chocolate Hostage, and two songs from another band of mine, Ecoute, where I'm also on guitar - one's a live track so there's some mistakes here and there! Hope you enjoy them!
At the moment I'm a the co-lead guitar player of Reading based Joey Ultra . We had our first gig in January and are booking up more all the time. We're kind of rock/punk/indie/porn/psychedelic music, I reckon. Although I'm not really sure, as we're yet to find our sound exactly..
I also play guitar in Monkey Bob , who can only be described as local punk legends. I was in Monkey Bob several years ago and we've reformed for a few gigs (after maybe 5 rehearsals) and to record an album. All in the space of about 3 months. It's great fun and I'm looking forward to the gigs coming round - they were always a spectacle!
I'm was also one of the founders of the Reading Fringe Festival , mainly looking after live music. I helped start it in 2005 and was heavily involved in 2006 but have decided not to be involved in 2007 as I don't feel I can give it the time it deserves. Apparantly it still will go on.
I have also moved into running gigs, with my first (and to date only!) night, The Shady Lane Music Club ! The first one was on August 22nd as part of the 2006 Reading Fringe Festival and was a complete success, with a comedy performance from Jim Bowes and music from Naama Hillmann and myself. If we'd been selling tickets it would've been a sell-out. I'm need to get around to organising another one before too long, but I'm not really sure who I'd want to play..
I'm going to be keeping this site up to date with any other stuff that I write, so keep an eye out for some of that turning up soon. I've finally mastered the art of the 8-track thingummy I've got, so I can actually record stuff....
Oh, and in real life I'm a IT manager, running the teams that manage eBusiness and B2B systems in Europe for a top Fortune 500 company. Ooooooh.
Hopefully see you at a gig soon!
And I've got a Facebook, so search for me on there, too..

Boy memory..

Sometimes I hate being a boy. There are certain things that I seem to be entirely unable to do, which I will put blame purely on my sex. Not that kind of sex. And the main one is my memory, or rather ...
