The Lust

In the distant year 1992 in Magadan, the Lust guitarist Yan started a thrash-metal band called "Distimiya", later renamed into "Dissector" which existed till early 2002. Yan was the only band member who decided to go on. He moved to St. Petersburg where he met Igor Anochin and joined Igor's band "Inside". But after rehearsals of the band's album material, Igor decided to work with his death-black metal side-progect "Tartharia" with other musicians. Yan and other band members of Inside (bass player Andy and drummer Leon) started a studio goth'n'roll progect called "Last Embrace", in which Igor also played as the second guitar player for some time. The band's vocalist was found right before the recordings of the band's demo "Dead-End Love". Mirla sang in two original songs - Dead-End Love and Don't Promise. Michael Jackson's cover, the song Give In To Me was sang by the former Tearfall vocalist and keyboard player Alex. Last Embrace recorded and mixed the material in Finnish Astia studio with the sound producer Anssi Kippo. Mika Jussila from Finnvox Studios mastered the recording. In spring 2004 The Lust's first album Tangled was released through Russian FONO label. The line-up changed a bit: drummer Leon left the band, and Vlad replaced him; also keyboard player Max joined the band. In the beggining of the summer 2004 the new album (My Dear Emptiness) recordings begin, The Lust sign the contract with a greek label SLeaszy Rider records. On January 20, 2005, My Dear Emptiness was released in Europe. M.D.E. gets from 7 to 10 in different magazine reviews, and German Rock Hard magazine gives it the "Prime" status! In the summer the band had already prepared the material for the new album, which was titled Membrane.The album “Membrane” was released, though with a delay, in summer of 2006 as a 12-songs version. The design of the CD was done by already well-known and tried Pablo “The Elephant” . The label SLEASZY RIDER had expressed the desire to reissue the debut album “Tangled” in May 2007. It must be in digi-pack format with 2 bonus tracks. In autumn 2006 The Lust started recording new songs. These songs are supposed to appear in the album of unreleased songs which release date has been planned by the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008. The recording was taking place mostly in St.Petersburg at a home-studio of Alexey Bolotov, who is known by his work for the “Membrane” album. Due to organizational reasons Marti couldn’t take part in this record and all drum parts were played by Grave, a drummer from St.Peter’s tech-metal band Grenouer. His participation gave a new and very intensive sound to The Lust. All guitar parts were recorded in December 2006 with Anssi Kippo at Astia Studios . During the same studio session Yan recorded some promo-songs for his former thrash-death band Dissector which was released in 2007 as a 6-tracks demo-EP “Cry For Me” (only 500 pieces). Mixing of recorded material for Dissector will be done at Astia Studios as well while new tracks for The Lust will be mixed by Christian Schmid at German studio Musik-Factory (sound-engineer of the album "My Dear Emptiness"). The rough mixes of a new songs by The Lust “Ever” and "Take A Ride" are free for listening at the webpage of the group at www.MySpace.com. In December 2007 the rest of guitars of the songs for THE LUST's new album and some new DISSECTOR's tracks were recorded at Astia Studios. Anssi Kippo has also remixed several tracks from the album "Membrane". Another several tracks from "Membrane" (with new drums) and a couple of surprises will remix and master Chrisian Schmid at Music-Factory in Germany during February 2008.
