How official can I make it? Welcome to my "official" MySpace page (like there ever was an unofficial one !?) blah blah blah blah..
I am a finnish music producer, recording & mixing engineer, arranger, composer, musician.. and a full time punk. I founded Astia-studios in Lappeenranta , a town in east Finland (yes indeed, some 20km from the Russian border), in 1995.
Now what can I say here.. I do mostly metal, rock and punk, but lately have been fulfiling my pop-perversions. Some of my clients include Children Of Bodom , Norther , Smak , Dizzy , Lullacry , Twilightning , Agonizer , Grenouer(RUS) etc. Check out more from here .
Along the studio stuff I used to tour with COB for many years as their FOH sound engineer but I quit in September 2002 to concentrate fully on the studio work. Lately you might have seen me passing out the road again with Norther & some other bands..
A little something that happened 2001 with COB at the airport of Santiago de Chile. If I recall right, some drinkin might have happened on the previous nite.. We slept mayby one hour and at the airport my batteries run out and I just had to have some sleep there on the floor of the check-in area. Then came the prime-minister of Chile who ordered the local promoter to move our camp out of his sight or he would have us thrown to jail. They put me & the sleepy drummer to a package-trolly and rolled us to the airplane. I have no memory what so ever.. Woke up in a hotel room asking what country and which currency.. anyway.. passed out in Chile , woke up in Brasil . Touring.. isn´t it great :o)
I like whiskey as an inspiration. If I watch tv it´s either Discovery or National Geographic . I also like The Simpsons and Futurama a lot.
Considering my working schedules it must be obvious to all that I am single, lonely soul who doesn´t smoke or take any other drugs than whiskey.. and those sweet sweet sleepinng pills *drools like Homer*. I make sure not to enjoy them together.
Somewhere there is Zen all around. But can it be found... :o)
I hope there is no certain Astia sound. My approach is to have each band sound like nothing but themselves.. Crazy stuff is usually happening during the sessions but still definitely the goal is to create something personal.
What music do I listen if I listen? Well, it varies by my mood: from Meshuggah to SOAD to Michael Jackson to Britney Spears .. As long as the music sounds good to me and I get the kicks out of it. Lately I have been listening to a 90´s oriented net-radio. Totally cool classics like ArmyOfLovers, Enigma and LondonBeat.. should I be ashamed? If you think so, go f*ck yourself!!! I just couldn´t care less.

Blah, blah, blah and yada yada yada.. like anyone ever even reads these. Don´t let the looks fool ya. No, I don´t ride a HD and I am not all metal.. or mayby just some body parts but that is not to be revealed on a page like this ;o)
