What's the Meaning of Slept On ?
In common street slang, the term "slept on" implies much more than a restful slumber at night. When something has been slept on, then its significance has been disavowed and disregarded. Today, the relevance of certain issues, people, organizations, movements and events (presently and historically) lack the proper awareness and recognition warranted.
In short, to be slept on is to be ignored, marginalized, taken for granted and overlooked.
The term is more than fitting given that SleptOn's mission is to bring to the forefront those highly important issues, people and their efforts that rarely, if ever, grace the front pages, mainstream radio rotations or television news programs. In addition, SleptOn intends to empower and provide a voice for those whose interests, values and perspectives have been omitted from public discussion.
In our name, readers should be constantly reminded ... Don’t sleep on the struggle. Be a part of it.
What is Slept On Mag ?
SleptOn Mag is an independent socio-political online journal established to promote awareness, facilitate discussion, debate and organization by providing hard hitting, thought provoking and engaging news analysis and potent commentary on politics, entertainment and culture.
SletpOn Mag is a web based magazine for and representative of a broad cross-section of the politically adept interested in an alternative source of information which is often overlooked, marginalized or excluded from the narrow focus of the dominant corporate controlled "mainstream" media, sanitized and scripted political debate and commercialized entertainment industry outlets.
SleptOn Mag will seek to harness the energy and passion of the astute observer in the struggle for peace, justice, equality and solidarity while providing uncompromised commentary, analysis and entertainment that take on the current issues in a dynamic, compelling and critical way.
