About Me

Me and my Dad met Harold Pinter. I was in one of his plays. Moonlight. One of his most... non-linear plays. The two of them happened to be at the same preview and they were having a Wine and Cheese Cubes thing for Harold after. My Dad and me hovered away off near the drink, wondering if I should pierce the sanctum of important people that surrounded Harold. Everyone wanted to talk to him. I wasn't up for it...Tried to get the guts up but couldn't. We were about to leave... and then he came walking across the room...Harold... He had a big Brandy. Introduced himself and said a few nice things about me which was not too bad, thanks very much. Then he asked my dad what he thought of the show. (It was a strange play, even for Pinter) My dad said, "Honestly Harold?" Harold Pinter said, "Yes, Colm. Be honest with me." My Dad said, "I liked it. It was good. There were loads of funny parts... but the end... the last 20 minutes... was the daughter dead? Was she a ghost? You lost me a bit there, Harold. What was that about? What were you trying to say?" Harold Pinter looked around, leaned in, and said... "I have no fucking idea." Then he put his finger up to his mouth and went "Shuuuuush" MyGen Profile Generator

My Interests

My Granny, Rose, was a poet. That's what she was. She died unpublished. She wrote poems about Belfast... about being a child in Belfast...about the Mills and being a patient wife...a hopeful poem about me even when I was a just a baby. I hung out with her when I was 10 and 11 (her house was next to my school). Every lunch. She read to me. She had a real love for writing and the odd story. She didn't sit there with a book in her hand every day... but I knew she liked it...and I knew I liked her. She had a belief in it.I always try my best. And I try to let go. I believe you can have craft and also childish glee. I believe you can have it both ways. I still believe in the excitment of things.
