the Blessing is on the B-side

About Me

I'd like to jump out of a plane, but then land on someone else's plane. I prefer bug relocation/cohabitation to bug squishing. I am my own butler.

My Interests

jazz, yoga, tango, salsa, hiking, swimming, jogging, freestyle rhymes, slanguages, orphan-planet-hunting, travel, puns, parades, animal brotherhood, listening to old people, clouds, questions, smoked salmon, infrared radiation, forest canopy, cheesemelt, unclehood, tastefully illuminated darkness, exquisitely punctuated silence

I'd like to meet:

whisperers with lotsa moxie, locks and the people who check them, and wild animals who'll dance with meTANGO GANAS Con Patas de Lana

Television:

Confession-- used to have an incendiary rant here about torching the tube, but the pleasantly surprising truth of late is that the commerical-free DVD retrospectives of these film-quality ¿TV? series can often trump a single movie. Talking about the likes of Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, The West Wing, Seinfeld, Grey's Anatomy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc. Special props to the BBC for The Office, As Time Goes By, Monty Python, etc. And of course the classics, All in the Family, The Cosby Show, I Love Lucy, Fat Albert, Welcome Back Kotter, Gilligan's Island, etc. Plus one simply must squeeze in a nod to Joe Frank (old school KCRW radio shows like Somewhere Out There, In The Dark, The Other Side), AND the splendeelicious sketch comedy of The Ministry of Unknown Science TMOUS dot com (soon to be on the Sci Fi Channel!)

Books:

Cryptonomicon, The Sot-Weed Factor, The Onion, The Chosen, The Meme Machine, Oscar Wilde, Ishmael, Gibran, Tolkien, Borges, Feynman, Ayn Rand, I.B.
