About Me

"Girls Allowed" available at www.bravetigerrecords.com... TREEFORT Founded in 1995 by Matt Hebert and Paul Hansbury. First show in Worcester at the W.A.G., which stands for Worcester Artists Group, originally booked as a Paul Hansbury solo show by Phil McNamara, played as a 3-piece powerless-trio with Mark Turcotte on the bass. Thankfully added Bob Hennessy on lead guitar soon thereafter. He put the "count" back in country. Matt Hebert quit, replaced by Joe O'Rourke in 1999. Partied that night like it was 1979. Many substitutions and guest players through the years on all positions except Lead singer/A-hole: including Steve Desaulniers, Michael Hale, Kevin O'Rourke, Josh Thayer, Michael Ruffino, Duke Johnson and Matt Hebert on the bass, Eugene Ferrari, Jeremy Marusek aka Worm, Michele Aguilar, Dan Leary, Don Macauley on the drums, Paul the Goatboy, Patrick Owens, Paul Hartshorne, Matt Cullen, Jim Armenti and Alec Wright aka Squiddly Diddly, on lead guitar. Must have omitted somebody. Marcia Bergeron and Cecelia Candia, Tim Minor, Kevin O'Rourke, Josh Crane, Dave Houghton, Thane Thomsen, Chris Carpenter, Jennie Benford on backing vocals, Shady Hartshorne, and Scott Hall on piano, and Rocky Roberts on pedal steel always pitching in when available, Johnny Colgan on banjo, keys and guitar saving the day time and again. Treefort has been around longer than anti-virus protection.

Review by Nick West in Music Review Magazine - August 1999

At their core, Treefort are a solid country rock bar band.  They aspire for, and achieve, a Wilco/Son Volt neo-twang that has been one of the most interesting American so...
