Growing up Leo Michael Gagnon had an extremely large range of music tastes that branched from jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, Country, and of course Dance. Being born in 1986 it would be fitting to say that he grew simultaneously alongside House Music as it to evolved into the the present day. "I got to grow up with house, ya know? It just feels comfortable. I think I was lucky to be born just as house was beginning to make a dent in the music scene, makes me feel that much closer to it." Leo was raised in both Hamilton Ontario, as well as East Liverpool Ohio. Often moving around, he has been all over North America taking in both American and Canadian cultures. Currently Buck can be found at venues all over Ontario including his residencies at top Toronto area Dance clubs Barcode & Film Lounge. He has also played at clubs such as O Ultra Lounge and D'luxe Lounge ( The Guvernment Entertainment Complex ). Already he has built an amazing fan base, playing in venues large and small, winning over hearts of the crowd one club at a time. He has spun with top global talent including Simon & Shaker, Deadmau5, Logiztik Sounds, & Hatiras, as well as Canadian House heroes Deko-ze, Jelo, Brad Copeland, Manzone & Strong, Addy, The Roaches, J-Prez Jayforce, Joey Seminara, Sydney Blu, Simon Jain and many more. Often unleashing banging tracks with perfectly cued cuts and mixes, he fuses eclectic minimal sounds techy off beat synths, and deep chopped up drum loops with hard basslines, filthy electro Riffs, and Dirty sexy vocals with the precision of a Dj who's been at it for many more years.Which needless to say is quite the accomplishment for any newcomer. More recently Buck has started to take his career to the next level, production. Responsible ( together with Dj LegattO ) for the massive tunes of Legatto & Buck including a Remix of Farace's "Back From the Break" Which won the duo the 2007 Internet Dj Remix Competition that can be heard around the globe from the decks of artists like Sander Kleinenberg & Pete Tong. When asked about his influences he had this to say; " When I first started spinning that would have been an easier question to answer. I've grown and experienced so much in the last few years that now it's nearly impossible. I find influence in everything, especially my family and friends. Nowadays kids who are my age, younger than me, even people older loking to me for advice, giving me their demos to listen to and comparing me with people I look up to with tons of respect. It's truly humbling and a little scary when i think about it. Here I am, not even 3 years into this career and I find myself making an impact on the next generation of house lovers...it's surreal, I try not to let it get to me though, I want to take what i do seriously, and still have fun along the way!" Buckeye-Red admits to being nervous a lot but it doesn't become evident when he's performing. He credits that to the people who come out to his events; "It's all about the clubbers and house lovers, when i'm up there it isn't about what I say or where I'm from It's just what they hear and what they feel. I get into a 'zone', It's them, it's me and it's the noise...nothing else matters. Truly passionate about what he does this prototypical beat pusher is only getting better, and won't be slowing down for a long time to come. from his Powerful sound, to his energetic yet poised, sexy presence and energy, this is one DJ to definitely look out for. House fans young and old are already falling in love with Dj Buckeye-Red!
