First things first ... this music page was created for all my old college and high school chums who wanted to hear my tunes but didn't know where to find them. They are here. And four years later I think it might be time to add some new songs. Hmmm... But enough about the past. I've been retired from music since age 23. Now I write screenplays.
So... I'm a writer. Whether it's marketing or press materials, screenplays, music or magazine articles - I've been able to make a living doing what I love. Not everyone can say that (and mean it). Don't hesitate to contact me for anything related to writing, editing or strategic media planning.
I've done okay for myself, but satisfaction is a son of a bitch and ultimately leads to complacency. So I remain unhappy. It's a choice I've made. Those who consider themselves happy are probably just sublime, and if you go back about 2007 years you'll discover that the true meaning of sublimity has more to do with visual rhetoric than true happiness or an elevated sense of being.
But please don't consider me a cynic. I'm just determined. I do enjoy life - a lot. I look forward to challenges and plan ahead. I play guitar. I sing. I dance. Sometimes when I play guitar other people sing and dance. Reciprocation is the best form of reassurance and all we can really ask for as human beings.
What else...? Last year I co-produced an educational DVD that has done quite well. I'm producing segments for National Public Radio. I've written for several magazines, including a cover story on G-Unit for a national Hip-Hop publication. You may have seen my acting prowess in X-Games commercials, music videos for The Pussycat Dolls and Tatu, and feature films such as 'Lucky You.' But I'm no actor.
Someday I hope to write exclusively for the screen. I have the stamina, and 2008 looks to be a breakout year. For now, I publish a blog every Monday. You can find it here. Also keep an eye out for new projects when they are announced at JasonSereno.com.

Influences: Everything from Old school country to Old school rap. I like it all. Nothing beats good jazz - it's the only thing that encourages me to clean the apartment. Classic rock is great. Jambands are good. Motown makes me warm.I wish I could've seen Frank Sinatra live, but am glad I caught Metallica at the Allstate and Run DMC at the Tweeter Center. The Super Bowl Shuffle will be sung again. The Rolling Stones have the best business model in Rock n' Roll. Hip-Hop and Emo have become today's disco. Disco music, on the other hand, has stood the test of time.
