I'm a freelance journalist covering primarily music and culture of the underground variety. You can see my work in the LA Weekly, Razorcake and a handful of other fine publications.I grew up in LA and have been actively involved in the club scene since I was a teenager, first as a DJ and, later on, as a writer. I spent my college years holed up on the fourth floor of LMU's student center while spinning records at KXLU, and then played at Coven 13 on Sunday nights. After college, I had residencies at Bang! and Beat It and promoted/DJed a club called Transmission.These days, I prefer to watch the scene with my tape recorder and notebook in hand. I truly believe that this is the best time to be a club kid in LA, probably because the real world is such a mess.
