I've also rediscovered Melrose Place and My So-Called Life--how I missed them so *sob* Oooh and Roo I'm so excited to finally be able to watch all the high school nonsense of 90210 again! Brenda and Kelly wearing the same dress to the dance! Hahahahaha!!! I watched that damn thing like religion..from the pilot episode to the bitter end (to quote Placebo). Why was everyone in love with Brandon and his unibrow? Dylan was the hot one!!!!!!!!!Oh old episodes of That 70's Show rocks the house (HELLO WISCONSIN!!!) and of course who could exist without the Simpsons??? They need to have the boys from Franz Ferdinand make a guest appearance so Groundskeeper Willie could have a field day :o)
"And I Don't Want To Live This Life" by Deborah Spungen (yes, mother of Nancy), also "Underneath It All" by Traci Lords. Both give two insightful portrayals about how damaging low self esteem can be and how society is so quick to pre-judge you as unworthy if you're not born into the perfect mold they've set aside for everyone. Nancy lived such a tortured life beneath her own skin and Traci really defines abuse and how it's possible to rise from the ashes and start anew. They're completely awesome books. Go read 'em!
one of my favorite David Bowie songs :o)
