Known for his infectious beats, catchy melodies and unmistakable grooves, Kaydean is rapidly changing the face of Latin urban music by quickly becoming one of the hottest and most talented producers today while helping to propel the talents of many up and coming artists including Mente Urbana and its lead singer and vocal powerhouse, Janid.Born in London, England, Kaydean was raised in the Fordham section of The Bronx surrounded by its strong urban and Latin influences. Fulfilling his natural born desire to be a musician, Kaydean studied classical piano as a child and had performed at New York City’s Avery Fisher Hall by the age of 7.
Kaydean continued developing his musical talent as a classical and jazz pianist while also learning to play the saxophone, clarinet, guitar, drums, flute, trumpet and mellophone. Before the age of 13, he had toured the United States playing two-valve bugle with New York City’s CMCC Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps and explored other areas like singing, joining the Bronx Boys Choir and acting, appearing in Hollywood films like 9 ½ Weeks starring Mickey Rourke and Brewster’s Millions starring Richard Pryor.
Kaydean and his many talents and creativity didn’t go by unnoticed. At 15, he landed his first production deal with AMA Productions in London, releasing over 13 R&B and Hip-Hop projects most of which charted in the UK’s Top 10. Since then, he’s had a successful career Producing, Remixing and Performing with artists such as Maxi Priest, Janet Jackson, Robyn, Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon the Chef, Ice Water, Champagne, Mike Stewart, Grand Daddy I.U., Man Parish, David Trejo of DST Productions and many others.
In 1998, Kaydean launched many solo projects becoming one of New York City’s most celebrated Dance Producer and Remixer. Gaining the attention of veterans Man Parish, Jellybean Benitez, David Sussman and Frankie Knuckles, he was nominated for the NAV Award’s Artist of the Year in 1999. In 2000 he became a writer for ASCAP. In 2003, Kaydean became a full voting member of the National Association for the Recording Arts and Sciences, who is responsible for the Grammy Awards. Kaydean has also scored commercials for Radio and Television for clients including Mistic® and Acura®, a TV movie and sitcom for Nickelodeon® and the Puerto Rican mini-series “El Ultimo Caso del Detective Prado.â€
With almost two decades of experience under his belt, Kaydean is regarded in the music industry as a creative genius. His early successes in Classical, Jazz, New Age, R&B, Hip-Hop and Electronica have proven he can easily dominate any genre he attempts.
Currently, Kaydean has focused his attention to developing and producing upcoming talents such as Janid, Peter Paul, MxtUp on his Dead Ninja Records record label and most recently finished work on the 2006 Frankie Cutlass “Puerto Rico†remake to be released later this year.
