About Me

I'm a pretty great kid. I have like the second biggest heart in America, I am interested in most of what this great big world has to offer, LOVE music, am a great cook, love my family and friends to death and would move the f-ing sun for any of them if they needed me to, and am trudging the road of happy destiny these days... I am the HR Manager for AVN Media Network and also work as an occasional DJ and freelance writer. I would wear many hats if indeed I liked wearing hats. I like a life with options. I like meeting new, interesting people. I tend not to get off the dancefloor once I get on it; I feel similarly about horseback riding. Both make my legs feel funny after a while and I like that feeling. I don't like that there's so much plastic in the ocean. I appreciate the beauty in random chaos, it is the stuff of life. I don't know where I'm going and even though I worked briefly as a phone psychic once I don't think I want to predict my own future. Today is pretty damn good.

Music, writing (scripts, articles, novels, blogs), DJing, dancing, the gym, movies, theater, travel, the beach, Regina King in anything, art/design, sticking it to the man, having it off, becoming the best version of me that I can--the usual.

I'd like to meet:

i'll know you when I meet you: you will get the joke, raise a toast (ginger ale, bitches!), have a clue, have a heart, make me laugh so hard I'll want to do something stupid to impress you, tell me you cried to a sappy power ballad while stuck in traffic, do something to make the world a better place, dance on a table (pref in cowboy boots), read a classic, care about yourself but not at everyone else's expense, have your own style, say something smarter (wittier or more clever) than anything I would've said, play music for me I've never heard, have a skill or talent besides looking good, be kind to animals and old people and fat people and people who aren't the same as you, avoid cliches, embrace new ideas (have some of your own), occasionally lift weights or be active but avoid talking about it a lot, understand that there is always someone smarter or better-looking than you but don't give a damn, just enjoy the life you have and spread the love.

Dolly Parton, David and Amy Sedaris, David Bowie, Prince, Madonna, Maya Angelou, whoever invented MapQuest...oh, and Rozalla, Queen of the Rave. My younger brother Adrian and my baby sister Danielle. Anyone who has worked all 12 steps and stayed sober, and helped others do the same.
