Born a Seattleite, raised in Salem, a small city nestled in the Willamette Valley of Oregon - though I live in Florida, I call the Pacific Northwest home. It is pretty near impossible to define a person like me. I enjoy an eclectic mix of music styles including grunge rock, classic jazz, new age and world music. My soul gives me no choice but to live, for better or for worse, as a performing artist for the rest of my life. Progressive causes are of the utmost importance to me. I'd rather listen to "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me" and "This American Life" on NPR than watch TV - unless football or a Sunday morning political discussion group is on. My ancestors were Swedish, Irish and Sioux Indian . I should probably note that I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian with humanistic tendencies and that my style of writing is very disjointed and stream-of-consciousness and prone to the occasional malaprop. (A shout out to my high school creative writing teacher Phyllis Quanbeck who, if she saw this, would have me killed for breaking every rule in the book). If I could, I'd spend the rest of my life getting away from it all - hiking through remote evergreen rainforests and taking long road trips on my Harley stopping off at mom and pop diners along the way for a good cup of coffee. There is nothing better than the scent of chimney smoke on a cool misty Autumn morning in Oregon. I prefer a dramatic stormy coastline to a tropical beach - though with a nice breeze, that is nice too. Sports. I'm a huge fan of the Seattle Seahawks and I also like the Portland Trailblazers and the Seattle Mariners. I like Christmas, at least the memory of what it used to be like. I greatly respect the act of philanthropy - people who help out strangers without prejudice or bias. And that's just a thin sliver of a glimpse into my complex being. How's that for more information than you ever wanted to know. Professionally, I'm an actor and singer (both stage and on camera). I'm very fortunate to have fallen into a profession where I can play every day for a living. (More info on that facet of my life at www.david-kelley.com)
I apologize for the verbosity. I'm usually more succinct, but I just felt like rambling for a bit.
Here is a film I did last year. I hope you like it:..
