My beliefs on the subject fallow the ideal that the mind is simular to a iceberg, with the majority of thought underneath as only a small fraction is above. I have dubbed the top part of the mind used for reasoning as the "Ego". The "Super-Ego" is the half reasoning have subconcious part of thinking that is attributed to socially created ideals, it is the conscience part of thinking. The "Id" is the almost completely subconcious part of the mind that is present in all animals. It controls our natural instincts. This theory can be represented by this model.
All those who apply as individuals which see the value in the pursuit of the truth and of the value behind understanding the mind.
Music is sex. Sex is pleasure. Pleasure drives our instints. We have two primary instints. Eros and Thanatos are those two drives. Eros is the life drive, it includes the drive to self sustain and the all important drive to produce children. Thanatos is the death drive, it occurs when Eros is faulted by a force to cause us to do actions that are unbenificial to our overall being. Examples enclude serial murder and rape.
I believe I can speak for the all males in that I am most interested in certain movies that involve women in scandalous amounts of clothing, sometimes even dressed only in underware! I apologize for my crudeness, yet sex is the most important drive in humans. I redefined sex to mean all forms of pleasure, would not that be the fuel of all humans? It is true scientifically that the goal of all living beings is to successfully reproduce the most efficient kinder. Would it not be true for humans as well? As I have shown before, my great freind and mentor, Dr. Joseph Breuer proved that the primary motivator of humans is pleasure in his sessions with Anna O. It was made clear when he unknowingly found that the cause of her hysteria was from a sexual discrepancy in her youth. A system in which all humans develop in there youth exists. If a horrific event occurs it will effect the system of development and neurosis may occur.
I had never been a large fan of television. I would much perfer to sit with an intelectual and discuss the mind with a large cigar than to watch television.
Common liesure time is much better spent on the porch with a high quality cigar. Yet I must say that books are nessasary in times of great stress. I must now explain certain aspects of the human mind that include obstacles to surmount and the guides to help understand the processes that occur within our own heads. Some defense systems developed within our mind to cope with neurosis, the most significant being repression. Repression is the act of the mind sending neurosis to the unconscious zone of the mind. This is effective in some circumstances but in the majority of the time it causes changes in personality, as the individuals unconscious mind is altered. To cure these neurosis one must confront them and bring them to consciousnes, the mission of the modern day psychologist.
