Ronny Mercedes is Riding to the Top!When we say triple threat, were not simply referring to his singing, acting and dancing; were talking Recording Artist, Broadway Star and now Movie Star!
Ronny filmed the leading role in the feature film, Tiny Dancer! The casting director Steven Vincent, who casted Ronny for several guest appearances and promos on MTV, knew Ronny would be a perfect match for the role of Javier, a Latino teenage singer from Spanish Harlem. Ronny who really is a Latino singer from Up town is honored to be attached to a film that embraces the Latin cultural values of family, love and passion. Writer and Director Eva Husson will be under the creative advisement of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Robert Redford, Sally Field and Walter Mosley for the production of Tiny Dancer.Ronny has been readily seen starring on 42nd Street in shows such as Steven Schwartzs (composer and lyricist for the Tony award winning musicals Godspell, Pippin and Wicked) Captain Louie as well as composer Gary William Freedmans Obie Award and Tony nominated musical The Me Nobody Knows. He is slated to star in Freedmans Broadway bound musical Magpie. In addition to Broadway, Ronny can be seen on various television commercials as well as guest appearances on television networks including MTV, Bravo, Telemundo and Univision. Univision and Telemundo recognize Ronny as a young Latino Role Model who is very promising in the music and entertainment business as seen in his interviews and perofrmances. He also featured on ABC's hit soap' "One Life to Live".Ronny has been busy performing in all the Latin Music festivities such as the National Puerto Rican and Dominican Parades throughout New York and Connecticut for audiences of 25,000 and more. His fans chant El Cantante meaning The Singer and believe he is the next Marc Anthony. He will be presented an award by Latin Impulse Magazine for Outstanding Talent and Achievement and has recently been recognized in DTM Magazine as the 1st place winner in the New York Artist Concert and as a promising upcomming artist. Ronny has performed Eight Nights with Elton John, a college tour with Kevin Lyttle , sang the National Anthem for the Knicks, and performed with recording artists Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, India, Frankie Negron amoungst many more. Currently, Ronny is writting and recording both English and Spanish songs, and is nominated for the anual Audelco awards for "Best Male Pefromer in a Musical".
