Deviating from today's usual song anthems of money, sex and drugs, Pasado y Presente (PyP) is what Latin "Hip-Hop/Reggaeton" music is all about. Representing Queens, New York, PyP is igniting the next level of mainstream music's well-overdue recognition of Latin artists.
Pasado y Presente are individually known as Sito and Furyoso. Sito's smooth yet rugged delivery of poetry has the touch of a harmonically toned style, where as Furyoso delivers explosive, high energy lyrics filled with colorful metaphors and ad-libs. As Pasado y Presente, they are more than just a group in todays music industry. They are a clever combination. Original.
Lyrically documenting their own lives and lifestyles within their culture, they represent the voice of a people destined to be heard. Their album titled "Tumba La Casa" features songs which exemplify the groups triumph over adversity, as well as the high spirited soul of their culture. Having both started their musical journeys at a very young age, they have been consistent in pursuing their dream. With their lives being shaped by the trials and tribulations of an inner city upbringing, many of the tracks off the album are expressions of such, minus the usual marketing gimmicks. These guys are the real thing.
Pasado y Presente are the fire and the passion of true Hip-Hop/Reggaeton enthusiasts. They pride themselves as being their "Brothers Keepers", showing love and respect; and using their music as a tool to do so. They do not criticize music that gets air-play, however, are outspoken about talented artists who go unrecognized due to industry politics. Especially within the Latin community.
PyP represent exactly what the name states. Past & Present. This is one of the many reasons why their music commands the attention of so many. PyP is the past and the present combined into one mastered sound, unmatched by anyone in the industry. Just as we are all a representation of yesterday, today.
