Opium Scent Recordings was created in 2002, by Joint Effort aka Steve Bishop & Chris Ruiz, as a way to put out their own music and the music of other unsigned artists that Joint Effort had come across and liked. OSM Rec. produces and publishes down-tempo, trip hop, and nu-jazz but also delves into drum & bass, deep house, and more from time to time. Current artists include Joint Effort, Peak, Nocturnal, Keith Brinkley aka Leisure from "The Groom Wears Black" (bass, keys), Hunter S. Twompson & MC Blaze aka Joan of Arc along with a list of other rotating dj's, mc's, producers and musicians who "sit in" from time to time.
