At the beginning of 2006, two longtime friends began working together in an effort to create something different. Both being in their thirties...not exactly young in the music world...these friends decided it was time to put their time and talents together and "the Raynes" was born.
Shade Stone has become known locally as "the hardest working musician in the Windsor area"...performing his solo acoustic shows in Windsor and Detroit five to six nights a week. Shade is not new to the original music scene either...having recorded three full length albums to date (Shade Stone, Shade Stone II, and Smooth Max).
I on the other hand, have always made my living like most other people in the Windsor area...in the automotive industry. Being a skilled trades worker in the Machine Tool field, I had always fought my deepest ambitions and put music second to my career, playing the local cover band scene on weekends to get my musical fix!
When the plant that I'd been working at for the past ten years announced it was closing (like so many other Windsor businesses) I knew that something had to change. It was actually my wife Maria who told me that I should try to do what I've always wanted to...and she's been incredibly supportive since. Shade and I had talked for years about working together...and fate seemed to show that this was the time!
