Marla Sgro

I am a singer,songwriter. I play rhythm guitar, and write all my music and lyrics on guitar. I am from 40 miles West of Pittsburgh in a town in the Tri-State area called Chester, in WVa. I was raised on ethnic Italian music and accordion from Italy in my home. But i was inspired by many other types. I personally love and perform the Blues and Southern-Classic Rock.I have been opening act for Elton John and John Mellancamp at Pittsburgh's Post-Gazette Pavilion, and sang with Wild Cherry there as well too during a 70's Bash with Kool and The Gang, and K.C. and The Sunshine Band.I have done jingles for TV, including a theme song that I did for Nickolodeon (Big Help)My current cd is "Pocket Full of Nails"; A new cd is in the works and should be released within a year.I do and write. Many styles of music including alternative, folk, alternative rock, gospel, blues, and pop in the future desire to sing some Jazz and standards, I am in the process of writing some standard-feel stuff. I love to hear a good scatter! I not only write music for myself, but desire to write music more in the future for others. I strive for a commercial feel in my music. I always try to put myself in other people's shoes when writing,If im not too busy hollering at them through my lyrics!!! Just kidding. Have fun. Marla
