How do it know?

About Me

Ahh, I hate these things, trying to "describe myself". So, I guess I should start off by saying I'm a born and bred TEXAN who tries to live her life without bringing any attention to herself. Haha. I've recently graduated from college with a degree in Graphic Design. I can now say, after almost 17 years, I'm a college graduate. Graphic Design is perfect for me. I sit all day and play with pictures, words, colors and designs and I get paid for it! How great is that?My first child, a daughter, is 18 and about to go off for her first year of college. Mom and dad most assuredly are NOT looking forward to it. Next year is going to be interesting. Lots of firsts and lasts when it comes to her... where did the time go?Our second child, on the other hand, is just ending his very first year in school. He's five and a red-headed whirling dervish! He is a treasure in my life; a constant bright, shining gem who brings me never ending joy! Little boys are so awesome! I guess you can say I stretched that empty nest feeling out just a bit. He tells me he wants to take karate lessons and play soccer! Gotta get a big ol' rock and put it on his head to keep him from growing up too fast.I love to read. In fact, I wish I had a job that paid me to just sit in a recliner all day and read! I'd write book reports, I don't have a problem with that... I also love crossword puzzles and other various pencil puzzles. Now that I'm out of school I'd like to find someone to teach me to weld so that I can get into some cool metal sculpting and I'd love to be able to paint without any interruptions. I'm a home body, don't like to go out much among the masses... they make me nervous.Well, that's all there is about me, in a nutshell.

Imposter

God... sometimes I feel like such a poser/imposter. Sometimes I wonder why I left law enforcement to become a graphic designer. Why did I think I could be good at this? I was a much better dispatcher ...

To Whatever End

Where is the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? They have passed like rain on the mountains; like wind in the meadow. The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into sh...

Seeing someone unexpected in a strange place

So, it's Thanksgiving weekend and Doug, Kirk and I are at Wallyworld. I'm walking down the main aisle and I see this woman walking with a man and a grocery cart and in the cart is a child. I actually ...
