About Me

For a review of the CD go to: http://www.mpnnow.com/archive/x2113791308/Disc-overies-New-r eleases-from-local-musicians Following in the tradition of a classic Power Trio, Mint Jam was formed in 2004. Playing guitar driven rock and blues, this band is not your typical teen group. They play covers from Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Black Crowes, Glass Harp and Eric Clapton. Their emerging original material is musically mature and developed from the classics.Ray, the band's drummer is from Henrietta. He has played the drums since he was 4. His dad, Marc, was part of the Rochester music scene in the 80's playing drums for a band called Blue Axis. Ray loves skateboarding, eating, playing games and listening to music. His favorite groups are Black Sabbath, Free, Led Zeppelin, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and all the old school hard rock. The bassist, Matthew, is Gabe's brother. He started playing the bass at age 8 in a band he and Gabe had with their cousins and Ray at church. He loves to play football and lacrosse. His favorite bands/artists are Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Joe Bonamassa. The band is led by guitarist/vocalist Gabe. Gabe got his first guitar when he was four. He has performed with artists from the Rochester area such as Phil Campbell of the Campbell Brothers and the Legendary Dukes. He also has had the honor to perform several times with the phenomenal guitarist Phil Keaggy at some of Phil's solo performances as well as at Glass Harp concerts (see www.glassharp.net or www.philkeaggy.com). His playing has been influenced by the masters such as Hendrix, Keaggy, and Clapton; however, Gabe always brings his own inventiveness, incorporating his rock, blues and jazz sensibilities into his music. Gabe also performs in a jazz duo called "Two 'N Fro" with pianist Mr Rod Blumenau and he studies jazz guitar with Bob Sneider at the Eastman School of Music. His favorite jazz guitarists include Wes Montgomery and Joe Pass. The band has played at venues all around the Rochester area including Water Street Music Hall, Fairport Canal Days, Lilac Festival, the Lyell Ave. Music Festival and the Joe Bean Cafe. They are currently recording at Gordy Calson's studio and working on some new originals that they hope to release this winter- www.gordycarlson.com. Hope you will check them out.....All music and lyrics copyright 2006 Gabe Condon. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
