Route 49 Band on Facebook

After years of playing with other bands and saying, “someday we’re going to put a band of our own together” Mike Taylor (guitar) and Bill Mueller (bass) got together in the Spring of 2008 to get their dream band going.
The first piece of the puzzle was a strong lead singer. The guys were blown away when Sylvia Hart came in to audition and asked her to join the band before she left the audition.
The next critical need was a rhythmic partner for Bill’s bass work. When Wally David came to audition, there was an immediate synergy between bass and drums and Wally was part of the band.
The final piece of the puzzle was a person to share guitar duties with Mike. While, as they say, it seems everyone plays guitar, it was a struggle to find one who fit our needs. After auditioning several guitarists we finally made a decision to start playing with just one guitar.
Shortly after this decision was made, Sylvia met Don Ferrara at a blues open mic and asked him to come for an audition. After jamming for a while with Don, it was clear he was what we needed and Route 49 became a band.
Route 49 plays scorching Blues and Southern Rock by such artists as The Allman Bros, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doobie Bros, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton to name a few.
