About Me

The industries that exploit animals are counting on us to do nothing.

Take a stand against violence.

Take a stand against injustice.

Go Vegan.

I love animals, and that means that I don't eat them. I absolutely love to read, it's my escape, my mental spa, my favorite thing to do. I'm head over heals in love with Ken.

I cook and bake vegan (duh) things when I have the time, and I love grocery shopping.

I'm really into photography. I watch lots of documentaries from netflix. I am obsessed with school.

Life is numbing at times and who I really am is so deep inside of me that I have to sit very still to find it. Sometimes I’m actually shrinking instead of growing. Sometimes who I appear to be is not really who I am. The closest to feeling honest to who I am is when I write. The fact that I tend to hide in public is a bit scary at times, so that’s when I go and read a good book. That helps. I go live in books for a while, and sometimes I find myself in them and that helps, too, because I know a little better who I am and I’m not so hung up on things that don’t really matter.

Activism is really important to me. I like what Noam Chomsky says about it: "There is an enormous amount of ... suffering and misery, which can be alleviated and overcome. There is oppression that shouldn't exist. There is a struggle for freedom all the time. There are very serious dangers: the species may be heading toward extinction. I can't see how anybody can fail to have an interest in trying to help people become more engaged in thinking about these problems and doing something about them."

To me, activism isn't a phase or a trend or going to one big demonstration to have fun. It's tough and sad and hard and boring and frustrating at times, but worth it all when you have a small victory, and of course worth it for all the wonderful and inspiring people that you meet while being involved. There's no other way to be in this world we live in today, so go do something!
