.. Skitzophonic - Rhymes With Orange This is the first album in a series of releases from Skitzophonic. Rhymes With Orange combines funky breakbeats and scratches from DJ Tommy Ruffingers with politically concious lyrics from MC's Ecliptic Shadow and Phase.
Skitzophonic is a live DJ/MC/Live-Hip-Hop/Breakbeat/Power-Funk-Rock group pushing the culture in the windy city Chicago. Originally founded by three Hip-Hop/Drum n' Bass enthusiasts: Phase MC, Ecliptic Shadow and DJ Tommy Ruffingers, the band created their first album (Rhymes With Orange) in their private laboratory 6,000 feet below the Earth's surface. That was only the begining....
After debuting on Chicago's Q101 Alternative radio station (WKQX) for Ryan Manno's 'Crash Test Radio' and later on at the Abbey Pubb, Skitzophonic was joined by South Side evil blues guitarist X-AISLE (85), the group was able to develop their live act well beyond the boundaries of your typical MC/DJ performance team. Combining turntables with live instrumentation and lyrical assault, Skitzophonic is quickly becoming Chicago's most intimidating alternative Hip-Hop act.

Composer, Producer and Poet: Phase MC
Paranoid, drunk and over stimulated, the man known to the world as Phase MC, A.K.A. "Kenny Techstepper" is anything but verbally stable. His rhyme delivery mimics the tentacles of an octopus, thrashing about in an ocean of jobless, hippy, trustfund MC's.
DJ and Turntablist: Tommy Ruffingers First spawned by goblins in the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust 3 million years ago, Tommy Ruffingers was buried beneath the Earth to be sent as a messenger of the new messiah in the future.
After spending many centuries locked in the ruins of Babylon with nothing but a turntable and record crates, Tommy arouse, encoding messages to the universe through his unique scratch patterns. Set steadfastly with one goal in mind: to awake the rest of the Earth. To this day, none have defeated Tommy in turntable combat.

He was risen from the dead by necromancers in 1882 and if Slayer, The Bad Brains and Led Zepplin ever shared studio time, the sounds permeating through the wires, may have only hinted, and prepared us for the sound that this guitarist has spent years crafting and perfecting. With equal influences from the post-apocalyptic thrash metal riffs, and a soulful inclination towards effortless jazzy, melodic chords. Versatility is an expression that fails to do justice. When he's not playing guitar with Skitzophonic he spends most of his time riding skateboards around his gothic castle in west Transylvania.
The archaeologists named him Heineken Skywalker and in his tomb they found old recordings of indie Funk, Hip-Hop and Death Metal projects (Fat Monkey, Tha Gameplayazz, The Crippled Masters and Diebrator). Jason's artistic inspirations pump out of drums and deep into the pockets of the Earth below. His infinate power flows from a blessing from The King Of Ghosts. Jason F. uses the birds to spy for him, and he can shoot Fire from his Eyes.....
All though there are only five members in Skitzophonic, the band has numerous recordings and live performances with other artists. Musicians including: live drum'n'bass group Spizm, World Famous Drummer - Johnny Rabb (Guinness Book of World Records Fastest Drummer), turntablist Danny the Wildchild, Hip-Hop group 'Ideologists' and 'Lyric District', saxophonist Edmund "312" Vega, Trumpet player Kaffele, Jazz vocalist Megan Sane, music producers Griff & Stugio B and funk royalty guitarist Kevin Mitchell.
