"yo pete, you hear how im kicking to these youngsters?..."
"...Like I remember Bambaataa saying that hip-hop becomes so intertwined with the consciousness of the "hip-hop head" that it informs everything he does- when he reads the newspaper, his thought processes are filtered through hip-hop, he will always think and act in a way that is somewhat informed by his passion for hip hop. Hip hop sets the guidelines of what is acceptable and true. If you take that perspective then hip hop is so much more than a "culture" or "movement", it becomes something ingrained in your subconscious. I cringe at how morally weak and cosmetic the rap scenes have become, but that still hasn't shifted my faith in certain beliefs that i have held onto since day one. To me hip hop is my life. It's represented in every way- the way i walk, talk, dress, act, and think. I guess I am writing this as a testament. So when I look back at this I will never forget who I was. I will never forget the love of my music and hopefully, who I become isn't far from where i have came from."
