Noise from a Quonset. No, that is not an over-sophisticated, symphonic term for a two-piece ensemble. No, that is not where I would begin a bio for two rural minds combining to produce a distinctively original music. But here we are, in a place more rural than you would think, inside a tin woodshed, in the middle of winter, a three dollar strobe light, & some poorly-lit VHS recording in the corner. invited here to be mesmerized, those of us whove taken Dr. Mesmers remedy for listening to Metal w/o gloves. The way it all comes back to me, is in the bass frequencies from an Earth® amplifier mashing against those poorly insulated tin walls & rattling the snare drum, the drummer thundering out one, then three quick detonations of the bass drum, & some drop-D tuning chord in endless sustain none of us feels more than the whale feels the water. This, and we are three minutes into the intro to that new song. Jonah Fast (percussion) & Cam Reinlasoder (strings) have been jamming, recording, touring, & living under the moniker GUYVE for 10+ years. From a northeastern Montana Indian Reservation, thru college towns, & frequenting Stump Towns finest saloons, GUYVE has always attempted to give their listening audience a new & meaningful musical experience. GUYVE's enthusiasm for turning people on to their music is paralleled only by their musical abilities & volume. ____________________________________________________________ ________ A vocalist, a second & third guitar or a bass, an organist. nonesuch additions would truly add anything, but merely clutter an already mammoth stage presence. Close your eyes if you want to hear the words. Open your mind by listening.-excerpt from "Autobiographical Perusings", Jeremy Watterson, Hash Press 2005surveilance footage from SMEGMA studio sessions
