About Me

Create a Myspace LED Scroller

Ever since I was young I have always had a strong passion for Dance and Music, both have always played a vital role in my life and I feel that some day I will be brave enough to break away from the security of a 9 to 5 job and will jump into the 'Artistic' field that I am destined for!!! I started dance school at the age of 3 and continued up until the age of 12, I went on to take 'Drama' classes and then became a dance choreographer at my school teaching dance to the younger pupils. I was always a real 'Tom Boy' so Football for me was a must; I attended after school training and played for the Ladies Football team through out my school years. Once I finished school I went on to study A-Level Art & Design in college and that is the same time that I discovered my love for the Microphone. I had always enjoyed writing poetry in school and my passion for rhyming was soon translated into Lyrics. I dropped a few rhymes in a dance one evening and that is when a friend introduced me to a DJ on Rinse FM. I was introduced to the 'Browne Brothers' (Plague MC & DUB) and joined the Drum N Base duo with DJ Geeneus leading the way on the decks. I was given the name Lady ST and became the 1st female MC on Rinse FM, I loved every moment of it and standing on stage, performing to a crowd gave me a real buzz. Once I finished college and decided to venture into the world of paying 'Tax' and 'National Insurance' it wasn't long before the writing started to take a back seat. For the past 8 years I have built a career in the Financial Industry but earlier this year (2007) I decided that it was time to inject some life back into a very routine lifestyle. I have now become a DJ playing a mixture of Hip Hop, R&B and Slow Jams however, Bashment, Funky House and Old Skool Garage are genre areas which I will also venture into; I want to play music which I love and so therefore limiting myself is not even an option. My Interests

Music:

powered by frazy.comMy love for music is the main reason why I decided to jump back into the game and become a DJ. I enjoy a range of genre's and my list of my most favourite artists is endless: RnB, Hip-Hop, Bashment, Slow Jams, Garage, (Old School) Drum N Base and I can't forget the good old Soca Jams!!!Well, let me give you a little insight to the sounds that get S.T's body rockin whether it be in a dance, in my car or in front of my bedroom mirror (Yes you know you jam in front of the mirror too!!) Let's start with RnB, well for me my collection of 'Donell Jones' albums can be enjoyed from begining to end (which is quite rare...)I luv my 'Jagged Edge,' 'Boyz to Men' and 'Musiq Soulchild' and boh Mary J Blige and Keyshia Cole continue to fly the flag for the ladies. ******** On the Hip Hop side of things, Jay-Z will always hold a place on my top 5 list. Ludacris, Fabolous, Lil Wayne, my list can just go on and on but I must remeber to shout out my hard working boyz Bronz & Blak Reppin it over here in the UK right now BronzNBlak. ******** As for Bashment, I will always love my 'Old School Ragga, thats the main scene that I grew up in and there is a serious vibe that you get in a Bashment dance that you can't seem to get anywhere else. The likes of Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal (need I go on...) are consistent with the dancehall 'smashers' and no one can deny that Beenie Man has continued to hit us with some of the hottest dancehall tracks year after year after year. As for UK atists, Kano for me is definately one of the hotest and most unique; I think that some 'Big' artists have come out of the UK but unfortunatly have not always been given the recognition they deserve. I must send a big shout out to my old Rinse FM Fam 'Roll Deep,' I grew on the Drum n Base circuit with many of the members and they have definately been working hard at their hustle ever since.
