Vylan started the band with original co-vocalist Vivian Vengeance to express their interests and creativity in the music scene. Something with theatrical presence; music that could be dark and menacing, and hopefully moving and entertaining. The aesthetic was influenced by other local acts like Death by Dawn, Chupacabra and K.I.L.L. and classics like the Cramps, the Monsters and Mad Sin as well as Little Shop of Horrors, the Rocky Horror Picture Show and the soundtracks of Goblin. First performing as Neurotoxin with Deuce Hexx of Metadrone on synths, Emily Pow on drums and Jack December on bass guitar with FX, December suggested Profundo Rosso after the Argento film (titled Deep Red in English & aka the Hatchet Murders). This organically became Profunda Rosa and Roxxy Damage took up the guitar. This is the line up that is featured on the first demo MP3s.
After the second Night of the Living Rock Zombies show at the Sharktank, P. Rosa went through some changes. Oakland of the Raygun Cowboys filled in on drums as Lily Casket replaced December on bass guitar. Voo Doo Lou of the Scurvies became the permanent drummer and Casket switched to upright bass. Ms. Damage became Marilyn Crypt and Rosa started writing new material and performing new arrangements of their old repertoire.
Studio sessions began recently, Crypt is now Ruby Gallows, and Profunda Rosa is ready to eat your brains!
Special thanks toWash n Dry studio for the new MP3s and to Rahillbilly Holiday banging the skins when we need him. Recordings are delayed, but new songs are in the works, and there is a video posted of an older song that was previously unreleased!
Dude Evil has replaced Ms. Casket on standup and P.R has taken a few months off to create some killer new material.
