Verbo Nero were formed in 1998 by the initiative of Alessandro F. (bass) and Salvatore B. (guitars). Shortly after the band was completed by Ignazio P. (vocals), Maurizio S. (keyboards and violin) and Sandro M. (drums, former member of local bands Midghard and As Fallin’ Leaves). In the years to follow, Verbo Nero went through different line up changes. Salvatore B. was replaced firstly by Flavio S., and then later on by Henrik “Guf” R. . The last some might recognize as the guitarist of Chaoswave (DVS Records) and Sinphonia (Lucretia Records). But it was only when Henrik left the guitars to Michele Mura in 2003, that Verbo Nero got closer to a stable line up. Michele M., which is also an experienced bassist, came from the prog. band Deforming Mirrors (R.I.P.). In 2005, Verbo Nero seemed to at last find the perfect line up, when Sandro M. left the band after recording the present EP. After 8 years of duty Sandro wanted to focus completely on his present project Obscura, and he was replaced by Simone P. . Simone is known as a fast and skilled drummer and was recruited from the local band Ancient Skin. Put shortly, Verbo Nero are now: Alessandro F. (bass), Ignazio P. (vox), Maurizio S. (keys and violin), Michele M. (guit) and Simone P. (drums). The career of Verbo Nero has seen many concerts in Sardinia, with the most significant one being the warm up show for cult black metallers Inchiuvatu in November 2004. In this year of 2006, the band has just released the debut EP simply entitled “Verbo Nero”, produced by the band itself and mixed at Foxi Studios (Sardinia) by Giovanni Mancosu. Right now, Verbo Nero are organizing several live shows to promote their recent recordings.

I Verbo Nero nascono nel 1998 per volontà di Alessandro F. (basso) e Salvatore B. (chitarra);successivamente alla formazione si aggiungono Ignazio P. (voce), Maurizio S. (tastiera e violino) e Sandro M. (ex Midghard, ex As Fallin’ Leaves) (batteria). Negli anni successivi alla nascita dei V.N. si hanno diversi cambi in sede di line-up. All’uscita di Salvatore B. viene scelto come chitarrista Flavio S., in seguito sostituito a sua volta da Henrik "Guf" R. (con già alle spalle due release del suo gruppo Sinphonia). Alla fine del 2003 Henrik decide di uscire dalla formazione e fonda il suo attuale progetto Chaoswave. A coprire il ruolo di chitarrista è ora Michele M. con alle spalle la significativa esperienza come bassista nei Deforming Mirrors (R.I.P.). L’ultimo assesto della line-up avviene nel periodo piu’ importante dei V.N., vale a dire in prossimità dell’uscita del loro primo lavoro in studio. Dopo ben 8 anni di attività in seno al gruppo Sandro M. esce dalla formazione per dedicarsi completamente al suo attuale progetto Obscura. Le formazione recente è ora composta da: Alessandro F. (basso), Ignazio P. (voce), Maurizio S. (tastiera e violino), Michele M. (chitarra) e il neo arrivato Simone P. (attuale batterista degli Ancient Skin). Negli anni di carriera del gruppo vi sono da segnalare una serie di date live in Sardegna, la piu’ significativa a Cagliari con Inchiuvatu nel Novembre 2004, e l’uscita nel 2006 del loro primo e omonimo EP "Verbo Nero" totalmente autoprodotto e mixato al Foxi studio di Giovanni Mancosu. fino ai primi mesi del 2007 i V.N. hanno organizzato diverse date live per promuovere il loro ultimo e per ora unico lavoro in studio.Tra Marzo e Luglio 2007 escono di scena Maurizio,Simone e Michele.Attualmente Ignazio e Alessandro decidono di andare avanti in due e di avvalersi unicamente di session per non tralasciare le esibizioni live e sopratutto per lavorare alle registrazioni del prossimo cd.
