About Me

Why the name EMPUSA?
Goddess, daughter of the god, Hecates. Beautiful. Enchanting. Seductive. Whore. Serial Killer. No man resisted her seductions. No man ever lived to talk about it. A climax, then death.
A distinct reflection in Empusa's sound itself. Sometimes beautiful and seductive, but always with a dark and ominous agenda underlying every synth soundscape.
Empusa first came to life as a solo project early in the year 2006, the brainchild of Brandy Oliver.
Richie Gray officially joined Empusa later in the year, after having collaborated with Brandy on several music concepts.
So what is the music about? What makes Empusa's sound so unique, even though it contains all the elements you've ever heard in any given electronic field? What has given this unusual project it's irresistable appeal?
Because it's personal. Empusa explain: "Our music is about us. This music is the manisfestation of who we are, where we've been, where we are and where we're going. It is a direct expression of any given event, any given emotion, mood or experience that has any presence in our lives. Every song has a meaning and exists as something within us."
It explains the mood pendulum that is Empusa
Two peoples lives personify through Empusa, radiating the same traits that define the goddess after which the band is named. Empusa is a musical journey into conflicting characteristics, ethereal trance-inducing soundscapes overlying bitter basslines, grinding rythm synths with corrosive and cynical vocal lines.

Our album download is temporarily unavailable, as the file hosting site "Filenanny.com" has disappeared off the face of the internet. Leaving 10 000 000 users in disarray lol We hope to have this issue resolved very shortly! Best wishes. Richie

Influences: Empusa is influenced musically by the same things that shape and guide us in life and ultimately lead us to our deaths. We reflect what we have endured, what we have overcome. We are shaped by our burdens and learnings and so we harvest what we sow.

Sounds Like: Pure EBM, incorporating lashings of industrial and trance elements.
